CPT Kai Sasan

CPT Kai K. Sasan of Huntsville, Alabama graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Science with an emphasis on Criminal Justices and Pre-Law from Trine University, IN. He commissioned into the United States Army through Army Officer Candidate School (OCS) as a Second Lieutenant in the Ordinance Corps March of 2017. Upon completion of Ordinance Basic Officer Leaders Course, he was assigned to 82nd Airborne Division, 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Panthers), 1-319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment (Loyalty). After his first assignment in the 82nd Airborne Division he was re-assigned back to the 3BCT Panther BCT following Captain Career Course. He served as the Battalion S3 for 82D Brigade Support Battalion (82D BSB) and currently commands A.Co/ 82D BSB.

CPT Sasan has served in multiple Leadership positions within the Panther Brigade. First as a Distribution Platoon Leader for Panther Fires, 1-319th AFAR, Fox Forward Support Company from September 2017-March 2019. He deployed to Uruzgan Providence, Afghanistan with TF Panther as a Forward Logistic Element OIC in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel in Tarin Kowt. After returning home he took the FOX FSC Executive Officer position from March 2019 to January 2021. Following, he was placed in the 82D BSB S3-4 supporting the theater closing of AFG (HKIA) until leaving for LOGCCC. Upon completion of LOGCCC, he headed to the 82nd Airborne Division Sustainment Brigade (82D ADSB) in direct support of 3BCT Panther Brigade. He served as the 82D BSB’s S3 OIC from April 2022- July 2023. He deployed (no-notice) immediately to Poland with TF Panther ISO Operation European Assure, Deter and Reinforce. The 82D ABN DIV response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. After returning from Poland and realigning back to the Panther BCT he currently commands the WorkHorse Co. A.Co/82D BSB.

CPT Sasan’s awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medals (4 OLC, 1 with C-Device), Army Achievement Awards (3 OLC, 1 with C-Device ), Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, one Overseas Service Ribbon, the Army Service Ribbon, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Medal, Airborne Badge, Ranger Tab and qualified Jumpmaster.

CPT Sasan is married to Elena M. Sasan and has family of two dogs.
