SSG Brittany Flores
Staff Sergeant Brittany Flores is a native of Los Fresnos, Texas, enlisted in the United States Army on 10 September 2012 as a 42A Human Resources Specialist. She completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Leonard Ward, Missouri and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. SSG Flores has a two-year-old daughter, Aalina.
SSG Flores’ first assignment was with 3rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division for 28 months at Fort Bliss, Texas. She later served as the Battalion S1 Clerk for the 1-67th Armor Regiment Battalion. While assigned to 1-67th AR Battalion she deployed to Camp Buehring, Kuwait, Operation Enduring Freedom (Spartan Shield). She PCSed to Camp Vilseck, Germany and served as the Battalion S1 Clerk NCO for 41 months. While assigned to 1-2 Cavalry Regiment, she deployed to Drawsko Pomorskie, Poland, Atlantic Resolve – European Reassurance. She PCSed to Fort Jackson, South Carolina and served as the Battalion S1 Strength NCO at HHBN for 21 months. She then PCSed to Fort Sam Houston, Texas and served as the Battalion S1 Floor NCO for 35 months. While assigned at HHBN, ARSOUTH she also served as the Secretary of the General Staff (SGS) NCOIC for 12 months. She is currently assigned to California State University, Northridge as a Military Science Instructor.
SSG Flores’ awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medals (4), Army Achievement (7), Army Superior Unit Award, Army Good Conduct (4), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officers Professional Development Ribbon (2), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2), and Driver and Mechanic with Driver – Wheeled Vehicles Badge.
