MAJ James W. Turner


Major James (Wes) Turner was raised in Alabama and attended Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History. He enlisted in the Alabama National Guard in 2001 and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. He returned to Alabama and began attending Auburn University, joined the ROTC program, graduated, and commissioned into the Ordnance Corps in 2008. Duty assignments include Fort Stewart, Georgia; Fort Lee, Virgina; Vilseck, Germany; Hohenfels, Germany; Boston, Massachusetts; Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Fort Carson, Colorado; and he is presently serving in the Bruin Battalion at UCLA. MAJ Turner deployed four times including three tours to Iraq and one tour to Afghanistan. He has earned two Masters (Boston University and the Command and General Staff College). He served overseas in Germany for five years where he met his beautiful wife – a fellow officer – and purchased a beautiful set of lederhosen. Both his wife and lederhosen remain with him to this day. He and his wife Brittany have been together for six years and have two beautiful girls ages 3 & 1.
