MAJ Di Sang
MAJ Di (Dee) Sang was born in Shanghai, China and moved to San Gabriel Valley, California in 2001. He enlisted as an Airborne Infantryman in 2005 and later received a commission in the Quartermaster Corps in 2015. In 2013, he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Post University, CT, followed by a Master’s degree in Business Management from Azusa Pacific University, CA, in 2015. MAJ Sang also earned Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management from University of Southern California in 2023.
From July 2005 to June 2008, MAJ Sang served with B Co, 2-504 PIR, 1st BCT, 82nd Airborne Division, and deployed twice to support Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom during that time. He then served as a Squad Leader with A Troop, 1/11 ACR at Fort Irwin, CA, from July 2008 to August 2010. Following this, he became an Army recruiter, serving at the San Gabriel Valley Recruiting Company, Los Angeles Battalion from 2010 to 2013. During his time as a recruiter, he was selected for the Green to Gold program in 2013 and obtained his Master’s degree and commission as a Quartermaster Officer from ROTC at Claremont McKenna College in 2015.
As a commissioned officer, MAJ Sang served as the distro platoon leader in A Company, 325th
BSB, 3rd IBCT, 25th ID. He also served as a Maintenance Control Officer for B Co, 325th BSB
from December 2016 to December 2017. From December 2017 to June 2018, he was the
company executive officer for E Company, 91st BEB, 3rd IBCT, 25th ID. He went back to 325th
BSB as Operations Officer between June 2018 and September 2018, and then reported to Fort
Lee after graduating from the Captain’s Career Course at Fort Lee, VA, in 2019. MAJ Sang then
took command of the U.S. Army Redlands Recruiting Company, where he served for two years.
In 2021, he began duty as the Assistant Professor of Military Science (APMS) at California State
University of Dominguez Hills Southern California. He moved to the University of Southern
California as APMS and Officer in Charge from June 2022 to April 2024. He is currently
assigned at UCLA ROTC BN as Officer in Charge for CSULA ROTC Program.
MAJ Sang has received numerous military awards and decorations, including the Meritorious
Service Award, Army Commendation Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters (OLCs), the Army
Achievement Medal with 4 OLCs, three Good Conduct Medals, the National Service Medal, the
Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, the Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign
Star, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Non-Commissioned Officer Professional
Development Ribbon with 2nd Award, the Oversea Service Ribbon with 2nd Award, the Combat
Infantry Badge, the Parachutist Badge, the Air Assault Badge, and the Recruiter Badge. He
currently resides in Temple City, CA, with his wife and three children.
